March is 'Hellenic Heritage Month' in Canada. It is a month that celebrates the history, culture, heritage and achievements of the Greeks.
The pinnacle moment for all Greeks in Greece, Cyprus and in the diaspora is the celebration of the outbreak of the Greek War of Independence of March 25, 1821.
Throughout the month of March, the Hellenic Canadian Research Institute will post articles related to the Greek struggle for independence.
Our first post today is geared towards a younger audience and is found on the history link below that takes the reader on a journey between the period of 1821 to 1832:
