Greek film director Yannis Smaragdis returns with his new film “Kapodistrias”, based on the life of the great Greek politician and diplomat Ioannis Kapodistrias. The script was written by the director himself, while the first governor of the new Greek state is played by Antonis Myriagos. The biggest production of the year will be released in cinemas on December 25.

He defends the freedom of every person with strength, kindness and dignity, even sacrificing the great love of his life, and does not hesitate to clash with the forces of evil, sacrificing wealth, glory and international recognition. When Greece gains its freedom, Kapodistrias is called upon to take over as its first Governor. Although he senses that he will be assassinated, he accepts his fate without complaint and sacrifices himself, serving his homeland with faith and devotion. This sacrifice leads him to true freedom.

Greece was blessed with the birth of Ioannis Kapodistrias.
His entire life was a strategy. A strategy that was to be realized in a Superior Greece, a country that could stand upright on its own.
